Are you ready for a new adventure as a chef? Do you know how to prepare the most delicious dishes, or would you like to help create them? Are you someone who feels happy when guests are satisfied and sees unhappy guests as a challenge? Can you work hard while still keeping a positive atmosphere? Then we are looking for you!

From washing lettuce to grilling steaks, and from slicing cucumbers to creating a beautiful dish on the plate, you feel at home in the kitchen. You are ready to show your skills – or eager to learn and develop them further!

When you arrive at work, you step right into the lively buzz of the kitchen. You greet your colleagues and wave to the bar and service staff. Together with the head chef, you discuss what still needs to be done for the mise en place. Are there any special requests? Are large groups expected? Tasks are divided, and together with your team, you make sure lunch dishes are served quickly and everything is prepared for another busy evening.

In between, you joke with the dishwasher, compliment a colleague on a beautiful dish, and check with the service staff if all guests are satisfied. Your shift flies by. After work, you enjoy a cold drink together with your colleagues. Being a chef on an island isn’t so bad after all! We are looking for someone who is hands-on, flexible, and feels at home in a dynamic kitchen environment. Experience is a plus, but motivation, willingness to learn, and a positive attitude are just as important. You can work independently, but you also function well in a team and keep an overview during busy moments.

Working on Vlieland

On Vlieland, we have two hotels and a beach pavilion. Our family business originally started with Hotel de Wadden in the Dorpsstraat. Strandhotel Seeduyn is located directly on the beach, and it is also home to the island’s only large beach pavilion: ’t Badhuys. Vlieland is a tourist island with wide white beaches and a lively village with plenty of cosy bars. In summer, it’s sometimes called Vliebiza; in winter, it becomes a place where you can truly enjoy the close-knit, familiar atmosphere together with your colleagues. In addition, Vlieland offers beautiful natural surroundings.
