Hotel Eindhoven

Hi! I am Nina Leppens and I am 25 years old. In my free time, I enjoy creating theatre and singing. Besides rehearsals and performances, I love to have dinner with friends or family.

How did you end up at WestCord Hotels/this specific hotel?

Great question! In June 2023, we (Inntel Hotel Eindhoven) were acquired by WestCord Hotels. That's ultimately how I ended up at WestCord Hotels. My career within WestCord Hotels has only been as a Housekeeping Manager. In 2023, we were taken over, and that was also the moment I officially became Head of Housekeeping.

However, under the name Inntel Hotels, I did get to know various departments. I started with an internship, which I did as a facilities intern. After that, I also did my second 5-month internship at Inntel, this time as a Duty intern. Towards the end of this internship, a position opened up for the role of reservation staff. I filled this position full-time for almost a year. After this year, there was a restart with our own Housekeeping team, and the then Housekeeping Manager left, requiring a replacement. Then I made the switch to leave the office and take up the role of Assistant Housekeeping, which eventually turned into Housekeeping Manager.

What does your day look like?

What does my day look like, that's a good question. One thing is certain: my day is never the same! Every day unexpected things happen that we, as a whole team, need to anticipate. I find that to be one of the enjoyable aspects of my job.

Additionally, I work a lot behind the scenes. My tasks include scheduling, recruitment and selection of colleagues, administrative tasks, improving work processes, maintaining contact with the work floor, collaborating with other departments, cost monitoring, and orders. One of the most important things is maintaining and improving contact with the work floor.

The best part of my job is the contact with my colleagues. Moreover, I enjoy working with so many different departments at the same time. As I mentioned above, no day is the same, which makes this job incredibly fun for me.

What is the most important thing for you in a job?

Working with colleagues and the variety, I find extremely important, with respect for each other being number one.

What do you want to develop further in the coming time?

Being a good manager also means working on yourself. I want to continue developing myself in good leadership.

What has been your highlight so far in your job at WestCord Hotels?

That's easy, the takeover from Inntel to WestCord has been the highlight so far. At that moment, a lot came our way, but we were all warmly welcomed and went through a pleasant process. I expect we will add a new highlight in November when the renovation starts.

How would your colleagues describe you or what three compliments do your colleagues give you?

For this question, I checked with my colleagues. What came up: Energetic, helpful, and hardworking. Nice, right!
