Meet Yasin

My name is Yasin Kaynar, I am 27 years old. Currently, I work as a Technical Services Employee at the Jakarta Hotel in Amsterdam. In my free time, I enjoy sports or spending time with my friends and family.

My journey with WestCord Hotels began when I was looking for an internship. I was given the opportunity to intern for a year at the Fashion Hotel in Amsterdam. After this year, I was offered a permanent contract as a Technical Services Employee, and I have now been with the company for six years. Time flies! At the moment, I mostly work at the Jakarta Hotel, but I am also regularly active at the other hotels in Amsterdam for technical tasks.

My day always starts with a cup of coffee. After that, I take my time to go through my emails. If any complaints come in, I make sure to note them immediately, as complaints need to be addressed. I also schedule any external work that needs to be done. Once I’ve done that, I head out to the hotels. I sometimes go alone, but often with my colleagues, and we go fix any technical issues that arise. At the end of the day, I always create a "Technical Report," where I document everything that was done that day. I then send it to my colleagues so everyone is updated on the work completed.

No two days are the same for me. There’s always something new to do, which means the job never becomes monotonous. That’s one of the things I love most about my job. One day, I might be fixing a leak, and the next, I might be installing a TV in a hotel room. My days are always varied, and that’s what makes the job so interesting!

I find communication very important in my work, as it creates a sense of calm among colleagues and ensures that everything that needs to be done gets done. That’s why we create a "Technical Report" every day, so everyone is aware of what’s been done and what still needs to be done.

What would you like to focus on in your development in the near future?
In the near future, I would like to further develop my skills in everything related to my work environment. There are still things I don’t know but would like to learn, and I want to figure out how to solve them.

What has been your highlight so far in your job at WestCord Hotels?
My highlight at WestCord Hotels has been growing from an intern to a Technical Services Employee, and I will soon have the opportunity to advance to Senior Technical Services!

How would your colleagues describe you or what three compliments would they give you?
If I were to ask my colleagues to describe me, they would say that I am a calm and helpful person.
