Meet Liza

My name is Liza Toth, I am 33 years old, and I live in Amsterdam. In my free time, I enjoy playing the piano, running in nature, and spending a lot of time with my parrots.

After working internationally in London, Budapest, and Amsterdam, I recently returned to the Netherlands. I took the time to find a workplace where I could not only grow professionally but also live according to my personal values, particularly sustainability, which is of great importance to me on a daily basis. I had already heard many positive stories about Hotel Jakarta, and when I saw an open position at WestCord Hotels, I was immediately excited. I was really looking forward to being part of the team.

Since joining WestCord Hotels, I have been very enthusiastic about the company's focus on growth and sustainability. My ambition is to further develop my career here, by leveraging my expertise in hospitality while also taking on new challenges and opportunities within the organization.

My day starts with preparing the work for my team, which consists of housekeepers, public area attendants, and supervisors, to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations. My focus is on delivering flawless rooms for our guests and maintaining clean public areas. Throughout the day, I conduct spot checks to identify areas for improvement and provide the team with training according to company standards. Additionally, I maintain close contact with other departments to ensure smooth cooperation and respond quickly to operational needs. When necessary, I step in to support my team and ensure efficiency and quality are maintained. I also take care of administrative tasks and planning to keep everything organized and running smoothly.

What I enjoy most about my work is that no two days are the same, making it both dynamic and challenging. I value working in an organized and clean environment, and this role allows me to use my strengths, such as leading a team, ensuring high standards, and continuously improving operations.

The most important aspects of a job for me are empathy, patience, respect, humility, and gratitude—especially when working with a large team with diverse skills. It is a challenge to maintain the same level of quality and productivity, so effective communication is crucial. Showing appreciation for my team's efforts and understanding how to best support them ensures they stay motivated and contributes to a positive work atmosphere every day.

In the future, I want to further improve training for the team so we can always maintain high quality and efficiency. I also want to improve work processes and explore more sustainable ways of working within the department. It is important to me to continue growing, and I look forward to taking on new challenges that contribute to both my personal development and the success of the team.
One of my highlights so far at WestCord Hotels has been working closely with my team and seeing how collaboration leads to great results. Ensuring smooth daily operations requires everyone's commitment, and I truly appreciate the way we support each other in maintaining high standards. I am proud to motivate my team, help them grow, and create a positive work environment where everyone feels valued and works together toward a common goal.

My colleagues would describe me as determined, reliable, and goal-oriented. I am confident that I follow through on my commitments and responsibilities, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard. They appreciate my strong sense of responsibility and my dedication to seeing things through to the end.
